In General

Before commencing measuring for any type of blind, you must ensure that you have a 'METAL TAPE' clearly marked, with no defects.

Measuring for your blind is very important. Please take time to make sure your sizes are correct before placing your order.

NEVER use a cloth tape as they have a tendency to stretch thus becoming inaccurate.

Ascertain where the blinds are to be fitted, either inside or outside the recess

Remember always to check for T.V. Cables, telephone junction boxes, protruding window handles or any other objects that may interfere with the smooth operation of the blinds.

Metric sizes should ALWAYS be in millimeters and not in centimetres, i.e. 89cm should read 890mm.

HIGH WINDOWS should window sills be higher than 1500mm, state the length of the controls required in the appropriate section of your order 'Control length'. This will enable us to provide a suitable length for the control and the cords.

Swivel Windows

If the blind is to be fitted to a tilt and turn or swivel type window please check that if the blind is to be fitted into the recess that there is adequate clearance to allow the window to pivot. If there is not sufficient clearance for the window to operate the blind should be fitted outside the recess.

Inside Recess

Measuring the inside recess for a window blind If your blinds are to fit inside your window recess measure the width across the window in several places and the drop in the centre and at each side. The smaller sizes are your recess sizes.

Outside Recess

measuring outside recess for window blind If you are measuring outside the recess tell us the size you want your blind to be and we will make it to that size. We recommend that you allow 2" all around when fitting outside the recess. This size is your blind size.

Doors

If measuring for roller blinds on doors remember that your brackets will protrude by about 2" so if the door opens against a wall the door may not open fully. When measuring doors for roller blinds measure the size you would like the fabric to be but remember that the overall blind size will be approximately 1 3/4" wider than the fabric size. We will make the blind with the fabric the size you gave us.

Venetian Blinds

When measuring for venetian blinds that have tiles fixed at the bottom of the window take the size between the tiles and make that the recess size.

For vertical blinds fixed outside the recess allow 2" above the recess for the fixing brackets. Measure from that point to where you need the blinds to finish. This size is a Blind Size. Always remember to make sure that you allowed for your blinds to clear window handles or other obstructs.

When measuring Bay windows for vertical blinds we recommend that you measure out 2.5" from the frame or handles and take your sizes between points A and B and B to B for the centre blind.

ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK your sizes before order. If you require any further information on how to measure please contact us as mistakes cannot be rectified. » Contacting us..
